Explain moral distress in nursing practice

Moral distress can occur across nursing practice arenas when the nurse has tough decisions to make that confront his/her values or knowing what needs to be done but not being allowed to do it. What experiences have you had with situations that could cause moral distress? How did you deal with those situations?

I have been in health care for 9 years with experience in surgery, mother- baby and mental health.

I have seen it all anything that can cause moral distress I saw, I have seen teenage girl getting plastic surgery, to father insisting on being in the birthing when their adult child is giving birth, to family refusing treatment for kids with early onset of schizophrenia because they do not believe in mental health.
