Discuss the Global Politics through Films

Discuss the Global Politics through Films.Read the seminar notes/power points, especially 14 seminar notes starting; “Essay- Framework for Analysis”. According to the tutor we should discuss the Global issues such as Terrorism, Poverty, Hegemony and Non-state Threats through Dominant Theories which are Realism (wars happen because there is nothing to prevent them) or Liberalism (liberal states are less likely to go to war). Then, we should criticise the Realism and Liberalism by Constructivism (anarchy is what states make of it) and/or Marxism (Changes to economic relations challenge world order) depending on the topics we choose. For example if we choose “Terrorism”, we should mention “Realist theory” ad “Sovereignty”, then, criticise Realism by “Constructivism”. If we choose “Poverty” we should examine “Liberalism” and then criticise the Liberal theory through “Marxism”. If we choose hegemony we should examine Liberal world order (USA in the center), and later we should criticise Liberalism by Marxism. Norm of Sovereignty is under attack and the International businesses are the new players. If we choose “Non-State Threats such as Climate we should mention Liberal internationalism and criticise the topic by Constructivism. In case we choose Refugees as a Non-state threat, we should take Realist approach and criticise Realism by Marxism. “Sovereignty”, “Norms” and “inter-textuality between movies and world politics” are the key words. Thank you. Best regards dear writer.
