Marbury v. Madison
On February 24, 1803 the United States Supreme Court ruled on the case Marbury v. Madison where it would establish a significant role in how we would be able to make law from that day going forward because it allowed the Supreme Court to determine if a law would be constitutional or unconstitutional. This allowed the Supreme Court to exercise the principle of judicial review. Without this power it would allow the Supreme Courts to void any acts of Congress that would be in a direct conflict of the constitution. The Supreme Court decided not to hear the case and this decision was made by Chief Justice John Marshall.
