This is meant to be an explorative essay, looking at the issues international students face while they are studying abroad. I have categorised the issues into 4 sections that i provided in the uploaded document. Please do a broad review of the lit and include possible solutions for each category if possible.

please make sure to write in proper grammar

Language:

This is the most critical factor affecting academic general adjustment. Students with limited English will have lower quality writing and need more reading time. They are also less likely to participate in class. Having an accent has been shown to have and affect on the listeners’ evaluation of speaker. The standard accent is associated with high social status, education and intelligence. Nonnative accents are associated with the opposite of the former. A serious issue is International Students signing contracts the may not fully understand.

Finance:

This is the biggest issue international students face and causes the most stress. This is because international students are legally only allowed to work a limited number of hours and studying full time. They also have low loan and job opportunities. Sudden healthcare needs can be detrimental on a student budget even with health insurance. Many students discontinue their studies due to financial issues.

Adjustment:

Establishing a new life in a foreign country is a big challenge and can often include significant changes in ones learning and living styles. The loss of the student’s usual support system is difficult to overcome and alterations must be made to accommodate the distance. Microaggressions, whether intentional or not, impact greatly on becoming part of the community as well as feeling safe and comfortable.

Education:

International students’ issue and experiences tend to be excluded from course materials in their degree, which they are paying higher tuition for than domestic students. There also classes that students are interested in but are only available for domestic students. Another important issue is the unavailability of intermission, which might be needed for many reasons by struggling students.
