Assessment 2 requires you to consider different clinical evaluation methods to evaluate your
students’ performance and achievement of clinical competencies throughout their clinical
practicum, OR, you can choose to evaluate a program you have been involved with in your
professional work setting.
 Modules 4 and 5 will help you with this assessment taskConsider which sections has the greatest weighting which will give you a hint about
the depth required
There are many evaluation models and strategies which can be used, depending on the
clinical outcomes measured, and can be chosen to take into account different learner needs
and styles. This assignment requires you to explore the following strategies when
considering an approach to evaluation:
 You need to provide background information about what you have chosen to
evaluate
o What is the context?
o Are you evaluating the student learning experience? How successful a
teaching program was? Are you evaluating a program you devised or were
involved with?
o This needs to set the scene which will allow you to respond to the below
questions.
 Which model/strategy or models/strategies would be best suited to your
evaluation
o You need to identify what these are, and provide a comprehensive
explanation of why you have chosen these.
 Which of the clinical aspects, clinical outcomes, evaluation goals/outcomes or
process indicators you would need to evaluate and provide a rationale for this
o Consider what you are aiming to achieve with your program/ student learning
experience.
o You need to identify your measurable outcomes in this section, and provide a
rationale as to why you have chosen these.
o Identify process indicators and discuss when they would be measured.
o Identify clinical aspects, clinical outcomes or evaluation outcomes you want to
measure.
o Make sure these are measurable and reasonable

 How your personal values, attitudes and biases may influence the evaluation
process, and strategies to overcome this
 You need to devise the evaluation instruments required
o You will provide a discussion about your chosen instrument(s), and why it is
considered to be the most effective in your context. Consider the limitations
and strengths of these
o There needs to be a minimum of 1 instrument devised
o This will not be counted towards your word limit, and will be attached as an
