This study set out to address research gaps in the information systems literature related to the lack of understanding regarding how and why effective information technology governance leads to business value. Furthermore, investigating the practices by which effective information technology governance delivered business value was accomplished through a phenomenological inquiry in Study 2, which enlisted top tier managers that deployed information technology investments and capabilities
