Overview and Rationale

As you look to start your program and look towards your future job prospects, it is important to have a clear picture of your career. In this assignment, you will research a single job function/role within analytics that is of your interest.

Assignment Summary and Instructions

You are asked to create a small 5-minute Power Point presentation that provides an overview of the role/job function, importance of the function, and its future demand. Some suggested ideas for information you may highlight in your presentation include:

Number of job postings on LinkedIn for the role (present the data)

Market forecast on demand for the role (use numbers to indicate time-line predictions).

Survey information of employer’s related to the role

Average salary for the role (potentially compared to other professions) (Present data with analyses).

Number of mentions in academic papers, in LinkedIn, in Twitter, etc.

Key skills required for role (potentially from survey data, job postings, etc.) (Present a table or graph).

Present a map (heat map) of the areas where there are more jobs in the role, either in the US or the World.

The above is not a list of required data points, but suggestions. You are expected to go beyond these and think of other data points and use these data points to provide an analysis of the role and future expectations.

You can use R or any other program to prepare this presentation.

NOTE: This is another opportunity to dive in and showcase your ability to present data, as well as showcase your presentation skills. Be creative in your presentation. Be sure to reference the data visualization best practices resources to create powerful visuals. You should also structure your presentation to tell a story, and annotate your data to highlight key points you wish to cover.

What to Submit

Using this project link, submit a power point file containing no more than 5 slides.

Grade = 100 points.

You must include data visualization along with your presentation. The data must be equivalent to a maximum 5 slides of a PowerPoint presentation.

Cite all sources using APA. To save space, add the references in small fonts at the bottom of the slides where you used those sources as support.

Do not add extensive texts on your slides, use visualizations. Text should be added as little as possible, specially using bullet points to create emphasis on topics.

Make sure your slides have a professional presentation, remember my recommendations in class.

On week 5 you will present this power point file to a classmates (using Zoom conference random break rooms).

Your live online presentation will last 5 minutes, with additional2 minutes for Q&A from your classmate.

Your presentation file must have the following name: M4_DataAnalyticsRoles_lastname,name.pptx

Format
