Should a mental health profession ever “friend” a client on a social networking site?
Discussion question #6
1. Should a mental health profession ever “friend” a client on a social networking site?
2. Because having someone in individual counseling and in group counseling simultaneously can be complicated and raise ethical dilemmas for the professionals should the professional associations simply prohibit this practice and ask professionals using one modality to refer elsewhere for the other? What do you think would be the gains and losses in such a policy?
