Who is responsible for management of the organization in a health care setting?

Health manager

As a manager in a health care setting, you experience a dual pathway of leadership and responsibility. The administrative leadership role is typified by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who is responsible for management of the organization. In addition, the chief of medical staff is responsible for overseeing all clinical services and the clinicians who provide care.

Does the Dual Pyramid form of organization in health care positively or negatively affect patient care? Does the administrative leadership understand the needs of the clinical team? In your experience, have there been “turf battles” between administration and medical staff? If you are in a non-clinical environment, discuss how top administration interacts with managers. Provide an organizational chart as an

attachment, listing the main positions and their relationship in the organization. An example of how to create an organizational chart using PowerPoint is linked in the learning activities section.
