In addition to an introduction and conclusion, the outline you should use for the discussion papers is as follows:
1. Theory/Modality: Identify and describe the theory/modality you have selected, including historical figures in its development and key elements of the theory. Explain it as if the reader has never heard of this before.
2. Laura’s Intervention: Describe the specific steps of how a social work practitioner would use this model to intervene with Laura. Be as detailed as possible about what the social worker would do to apply this theory/modality to help Laura. Note that it is not necessary to summarize Laura’s issues- you can assume the reader is familiar with the case.
3. Analysis: Summarize the strengths and limitations of this approach. Which aspects of the model would be most helpful, and why (or why not)? Use the literature to support your statements regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the theory.
