To answer the first question, you may select one of the above functions to organize your response for the following two question:

  • Discuss what could go wrong or need improvement in the selected function or task.
  • Place yourself in a supervisory position and share with the class what you would do to monitor performance, identify issues, address them, and prevent them from happening in the future. (Make sure to be specific to the function or task selected rather than being general and vague.)
  1. We have now established that we need data for measurement and performance improvement. One of the most important factors in this process is data quality. For this post, discuss the following regarding data characteristics.
    • Select and briefly describe two of them.
    • Give an example that shows how poor quality for the selected characteristics would affect patient care, work in the HIM department, and so forth. For example, lack of complete documentation (data comprehensiveness) would impact quality of coding and would delay payment. Now it’s your turn.
