  • Critically Evaluate How Theorist’s Theory Can Be Applied Today (or not)
The instructor asks Me to be more detailed and specific information. Also, asks me to add more example from articles that apply the theo
So i should explain if the theory might be applied and how, or , not with examples from articles, And she needs more references in this part
And she needs to see the critical thinking in the part as well
Frederick Herzberg’s Contributionand the background for the scientist and the principle

At the first class, you will be assigned a prominent Theorist in management or motivation. More than one student will study each Theorist; more on that later. You will report on his/her principal theory regarding this subject. Include how the social environment of the time contributed to the theory, and how the theory is relevant today. Create a list of (at least) five of the subject’s publications.

Here is your assigned Theorist

  1. Using Word or a similar application, write a double-spaced business memo of a maximum of 4 pages. In counting the pages do not include your references, theorist publication list or your questions. Thus you have a full four pages for your report content. You are to research your subject using the library, Internet, or other sources.
  2. In addition, create five multiple choice questions based on your memo and provide your answers; place these in an appendix.
  3. Prepare a 30 minute presentation on your subject; you will present this during class later in the semester. You may wait for feedback on your report before creating your presentation.

See the posted memo as an example for your report. If you wish you may use the example as a template for your report. The topics shown there are the items to be presented in your report.

The memo and questions (items 1 and 2 above) will be due at Class 5 Your work will be graded and returned. The work from students who are scheduled to present in Class 7 will be graded and returned within 72 hours—sooner if possible.

Each person will do his/her research independently and submit individual memos. Then you are to prepare your presentation. Since two (or more) students have been assigned to the same theorist, they are to jointly prepare a single, co-authored presentation. The presentations will be scheduled in roughly chronological order based on when the theorists published their work.

You will have 30 minutes to present and when there are multiple students, all are to participate. There will be 10 minutes for questions and discussion.

You will make your oral presentation some time after receiving the graded work. The dates for these presentations will be posted in a separate memo.

Items 1 and 2 (above) will be your physical report (memo) and will be graded as a unit and count for 25% of your course grade. Part 3 is your oral presentation which will count for 8% of your course grade.

Each grade will be based 19 points on content (ideas, facts, range of source materials, etc.) and on proper referencing and quality of the Bibliography. 5 points will be for the physical report (spelling, grammar, clarity, organization, neatness, and physical presentation). 1 point will be for the quality of your questions. You are encouraged to refer to The Elements of Style to help make your writing as clear as possible.

Below is my grading template for your report.
