Explain how communication is important in the business world

The article written by Coffelt et al. (2016) relates to communication process because is initiated by a sender who needs a receiver. Oteyza, Balmoria, and Sabularse (2018) mentioned how communication is important in the business world because communication is in the center of the process of management. Within the exchange of information between parties there is meaning of the message, the message worth, the type of channel or platform, as well as the interpretation of the message. Messages need to be correctly and accurately perceived from the sender to the receiver (Oteyza et al.). The feedback between both parties is crucial for this process to be completed. Oteyza et al. broke down the communication process into five parts: the climate of communication, the channel of communication, the timing of the communication and the feedback of the communication. In Coffelt et al. article, there were two coders involved in interpreting the open-ended responses into categories of oral, written, visual, or electronic communication skills. The coders encoded the information so that the receiver (the study) could have founded documentation of what type of communication skills are being utilized the most in the workforce. If the coders did not do their part to analyze the employer’s open-ended responses then the study would not have been as accurate or efficient. Oteyza et al. also mentioned that communication is used to best define an organization’s culture, strengths, gaps, and challenges. This writer would like to know the percentage of how many businesses fail because of their communication process. Coffelt et al. also mentioned in their article that communication courses tend to be taught to students from multiple majors so being able to narrow communication down to one occupation can be difficult if the occupation is being mixed in with all other types of communication. For example, Oussi and Klibi (2017) mentioned that accounting students are usually unaware of the new communication skills that are needed when dealing with new business processes which leaves these accounting students unprepared for professional practice. When communication does not go through a process then information there would be no such thing as interpersonal communication. This writer also wonders how many students would be better prepared and accepted into their field of choice if they took college communication courses that pertained to specific communication skills that are most utilized in their field. This writer also wonders if students are being set up for failure because the colleges did not prepare them as much as they should have regarding communication skills.Biblical Integration

John 11.1-44, talks about the death of Lazarus. There are parts in this passage where Jesus is communicating to His disciples and then the message of Him coming to meet up with Lazarus’ family created a communication process. In verse 20, Martha had heard that Jesus was coming; she had urgently prepared for His arrival due to the nature of Lazarus’ death. Martha knew that Jesus was coming for a purpose. This message teaches readers how a good message was sent through a series of people and then received through the resurrection of Lazarus. What was interesting about Jesus’ approach was that He was trying to teach His followers to have faith in the unknown and it is surprising when we send messages to others, we expect them to be received.
