When medicine progressed, new specialties emerged to treat various medicine more accurately. Otolaryngology or common known as ENT takes care and diagnosis of the ears, neck, nose, and throat. Generally, patients arrive to consultation to the specialist with a referral from their clinician. However, the following diseases are more usual than we can imagine. For example, tinnitus, or ringing in the ears is characterized for a persistent buzzing or static sound that could be caused by different pathologies including stress. Or hypoacusis that is very common in elderly population, but should be differentiated from a sudden hearing loss, and the conductive hearing loss. For example, earwax build up is the cause of frequent visit at the ENT practice. Ceruminosis or earwax build up is the cause of fullness sensation, pressure and hearing loss (conductive).

Another common condition like otitis media characterizes for drainage in the middle ear (serous, mucous, purulent or mixed) and is usually painful. Common cold, and allergies originates it. In contrast with other ears condition like dizziness and positional vertigo that are originated in the inner ear specifically in the vestibule (a complex organ) that causes loss of balance, unsteadiness, nausea or vomiting sensation.

Sinusitis and rhinitis are the most common nasal conditions at any age that could be from viruses infection or seasonal. Usually cause stuffy nose, runny nose, postnasal drip, facial pressure, headache and watery eyes.
